First Draft - my first non-fiction book
With my time off this year, I wanted to spend time writing a book. It's been something I've thought about doing for quite a long time.
It's surprising how many details are involved with such a project, writing the book is really only half the job. Currently, the book is being edited after I spent some time tuning it up with Grammarly, then I'll have a round of revisions, finish getting the book cover together, writing the blurb, formatting it with Vellum, then uploading it as an e-book and Print on Demand to Amazon.
My intention is to make this a first-in-series book which will end up being a free download, but initially, I'm going to run it under Kindle Unlimited to try out the tools there. Then after the 90-day exclusivity period there, I'll launch it in other stores (going wide), then make it free everywhere. Then hopefully I'll have the next book ready to go.
The book is titled:
Adventuring In Western Golden Gate Park
Inspiration for inexpensive family day trip adventures in San Francisco
Basically, it covers 5 easy family-oriented outings on the west side of Golden Gate Park with 3 bonus adventures in Sutro Heights and Lands End.
The follow up will be similar, covering the east side of Crossover Drive.
Both of these will be free, first-in-series leading to a more comprehensive
Adventuring in the San Francisco Bay Area
52 Family Oriented Day Trips
I love getting out with my kids on the weekends, it's the best part of my week. And given the chance to share my passion with other families is something I'm looking forward to.
With a little luck, I'll have it uploaded to Amazon and Kindle Unlimited later this summer!
